NEW DELHI： Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Thursday warned that India could become China’s economic slave if it the current rate of trade between the two Asian powers were maintained.

瑜伽大师拉姆德夫警告，如果两个亚洲大国的贸易保持目前的趋势，印度可能会沦为中国的经济奴隶。

“Five years ago， Chinese sales in India were worth Rs. 2 lakh. In five years， that has doubled，” Ramdev told ANI. “This is a warning sign for our country. If the same rate of trade with China continues， it would make us their economic slave，” he added.

“5年前，中国（商品）在印度的销售额为20万卢比（三泰虎注：此处应为20万亿卢比）。5年后，这一数字翻了一番。”拉姆德夫对印度ANI通讯社说，“对我们国家，这是警告信号。照与中国这样的贸易速度持续下去，我们会沦为他们的奴隶的。”

Baba Ramdev’s comments come at time when there are calls to ban or boycott Chinese goods in India.

拉姆德夫的这番言论，适逢印度国内有人呼吁抵制中国货的时期。

It is worried that India may take over their growth.

The real issue is how Chinese goods are cheaper even after adding transportation cost. We have chines imports of all goods small or big. Goods related to our festivals are also now made in China. Why our manufacturers not able to compete. They find it easy to import and sell. We all also buy these goods as no other alternative at the same price is available. Slogans will not help. Our Government and Businesses have to respond.
